I'M REALLY GOING!

Visit www.moblyng.com to make your own!

Last year this time, we had an opportunity to go to Rome. We have a friend that is in the American Embassy and he told us if we can get there we will want for nothing. We'll have a place to stay and all expenses paid. So we went to Dover, Del. where we would catch a HOP (being in the military this is one of our benefits). BUT... we waited in the terminal every day for a whole month trying to catch a HOP. Thank goodness we have family in Dover. Being retired military, we're at the bottom of the list. Active members have priority. Well, the more time went on, the more I remember getting soooo upset that it never happened. And before you knew it, it was too late. Our friend's tour of duty was ended and he came home. He told us that this year he's going back and wants us there. This time he was willing to buy a round trip airline ticket. My honey is not able to travel that long due to his condition so he told me to go without him. He said it'll be a chance in a lifetime that I will never have again. He said I am more religious that he is and I will be in 7th heaven while I'm there. So there you have it. I am truly going to Rome!!! I'm all packed already. But I can't figure which shoes to wear. They do have to be comfortable because I plan on walking all over to see all I can. I have my round trip ticket on United airlines for August 6th and will return with him when his tour of duty is over on August 15th. We'll be staying at the Embassy quarters. He's arranged for private tours for me in the Vatican, the Embassy, Assissi, and even a special audience with the Pope. What I want to see most is the statue of the Pieta and the Sistine Chapel. Wow, being in St. Peter's square on Sunday morning while Pope Benedict XVI says Mass and receiving Communion from him will be so overwhelming!!! What an honor! I'll also step foot in the Trevi fountain; it's the fountain that was in the movie "Gidget goes to Rome". I'll take tours on a double decker bus. Lots n lots of picture opportunities. Gosh there's so much to see and do I just can't wait! I'm so excited I can't believe I'm really going this time. Even when I'm there I'm gonna still say, I can't believe I'm here. Wow, real Italian food. Right up my alley. Anyway, here is a slide of pix I took from Google images and when I return I will have my own pix to display. So until then, Ciao till we meet again.

OUR ANNUAL RELAY

We had our annual Relay For Life last weekend and our theme was "Under The Big Top". Our team's name was "The Circus Stars". We all had a great time, with chances, activities, face painting not to mention the things we offered at our own site. For $1.00 you can make your own button badges, and/or slap wrist bracelets. Also for $3.00 my honey was challenging anyone to beat him at a chess game. He wins, they pay. . . They win, he pays. Christopher is really good at chess and came >this close< to beating grandad. We also were and still are selling these "Fight Like A Girl" and "Hope Lives Here" T shirts which are $10.00 for sizes small, medium, large & extra large. $12.00 for 2X and $13.00 for 3X. MY DAUGHTER, PATTI ♥

My Daughter, aka Purple Patti is truly and literally going places and has come a long way since she started umpteen years ago.

When she was 16, she got a summer job at "Camp Lenape" as an aide in taking care of handicapped children. I remember when she came home that day, she raved about how her day went. She knew there and then that this is where she is meant to be. This is her calling in life. To be there for all the handicapped children in her district and then some. It truly takes a special person to be able to do what she does and God knew what He was doing when He put her in this field. She makes a difference in the lives of everyone she meets especially on a daily basis! Today, she's now in the Kent County school district as president of the Para-Teachers Association and gets to go to conferences all over our nation. She met our Vice President already and is voicing her opinion in this video clip on U Tube... Check it out!

I ♥ love ♥ you Patti, and I am SOOOO proud of you and all your accomplishments. Including your weight loss battle. It goes to show you that anyone can do anything when you put your mind around it!

Patti writes: "We had a State Wide Rally the other night discussing all the pay cuts that the Governor of Delaware is proposing. They went around and asked people what an 8% cut would mean to them. So check out my reaction to the 8% salary cut on You Tube".

2 GETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

THIS IS HOW I FEEL AFTER MY MAMMOGRAMS (hehee)
BUT I KNOW IT'S WORTH EVERY PINCH

Hi There! It's been a while since I shared part of my life with you so I wanted to catch up or at least let you in on what's going on! There are a lot of things happening in my life right now and all of them are exciting and so worth getting involved in.

I am proud to be a participant in our annual "RELAY FOR LIFE" event which is happening once again in Morgan County. Our theme is "Under The Big Top" so we named our team the "Circus Stars"! A bearded lady, clowns of all ages, a ringmaster, the strongest man in the world, will all be there and my daughter, Lynn, thought of the idea of us being Siamese twins. People say we look alike so why not. hehee. Sounds like a lot of fun! The event will have lots of games n prizes. Each site will have ample opportunities to purchase the many items we'll be selling. Plus each site will be judged for different talents.

As all of us around the world join in the fight, one way and/or another, we're getting together here in Berkeley Springs, Wv. Everyone involved is raising money and our individual goals are $100.00. I am hoping, praying and shooting for personally raising at least 5 times that!

Here is an opportunity for you to help me make my personal goal! I'm walking for a cause so powerful that together we can build hope for our grand moms ♥ grand dads ♥ grand daughters ♥ grand sons ♥ moms ♥ dads ♥ daughters ♥ sons ♥ moms-in-law ♥ dads-in-law ♥ daughters-in-law ♥ sons-in-law ♥ sisters ♥ brothers ♥ sisters-in-law ♥ brothers-in-law ♥ aunts ♥ uncles ♥ nieces ♥ nephews ♥ cousins ♥ & even our dearest ♥ friends.

If you please
(FOLLOW ME) I will take you to my personal page to browse. There, you can join our team in our walk on June 6th & 7th weekend, or make a donation to support me in my walk. I will make a banner with the names of each and every donor/sponsor I personally receive and it will be on display at our site. Feel free to click on any of the links to catch up on what's happening so far. For $10.00 you can purchase our T-shirts. This year they're offering 2 different ones displaying new messages.

For many people who attend Relay For Life®, one of the most moving parts of the event is the Ceremony of Hope. As the lights dim over the campsites and the Relay is coming to an end, the night is brightened by the glow of lighted bags called "LUMINARIES", each of which has a special meaning. Some luminaries celebrate the survivors who have battled cancer and lived to share their story. Many commemorate the lives of those who have lost their lives battling this deadly disease.

All represent a person who has been profoundly affected by cancer in one form or another and the family and friends who continue to be touched by those experiences. You too can help spread the light of hope by purchasing your luminaries in honor and/or in memory of those close to you who have been struck by this wretched disease. On my page please click on the LUMINARIES link.

Just think . . . if you tell a friend to join or sponsor me, and they tell a friend, and they tell a friend, before you know it we will be one giant step closer to the finish line of finding a cure!

2 Gether We Can Make A Difference!

Ellen is the reason I first got involved with the Breast Cancer fight. My whole adult life I was truly terrified of getting Breast Cancer because I have Fybersistic Breasts. When I found out Ellen had developed this deadly disease, I was so blown away, so horrified, that it attacked someone so close to me, someone I love so much. I cried and just wanted to hold her and tell her everything will be ok! It didn't happen that way. I did hug her, but because of situations beyond my control, I wasn't able to say what I wanted to say. Instead I let her know that we will be with her every step of her journey and then beyond!!!

We Won't Give Up Till We Find A Cure!
Please Join Me In My Walk!

A CONCERNED GRANDMOM!

Car seats and booster seats are required by law whenever you transport a child, in a car, under the age of eight and the weight of 80 pounds. Why then, are not even seat belts required on school buses that carry children as young as five for kindergarten, or in the case of special services and private preschools as young as three?

Do you remember a couple of years ago when four teens were killed in Alabama and many others injured when a school bus went over the edge of a highway overpass and fell below to the street, flinging students out of their seats?

One main reason that school buses don't have seat belts is because it would limit the capacity of the bus. (Big Deal!) Many school districts expect three small children to share one seat, therefore requiring fewer buses. With seat belts, you are limited to two children per seat. (Not necessarily! Install three seat belts!) This may force the school district because of limited funds to extend the range of those who are not eligible for bus transportation, forcing students to walk or bike, and this may not only be an inconvenience but also a safety hazard. (I think they're missing the safety hazard point here...the lack of seat belts!)

Where do you stand on this issue? Should school buses have seat belts?

I found this article when I went to Google images. I read it through and it doesn't make sense to me. There should still be a law to use seat belts on school buses. Why can't they put three seat belts on one seat? One for each small child and if there will only be two older kids, let them just use 2 of the belts. No biggy! I rather see them in seat belts rather than flown from their seat to God only knows where on the bus in case of an accident. I don't like the fact that they haven't done anything about this concern yet! Buses have been around for a long time already. And as far as accidents, they have all been pretty brutal. Maybe if we all get together and present our concerns, they may do something about this major concern... especially for parents, and grandparents.

Just wanted to vent!!

I GUESS IT's NEVER TOO EARLY

This Easter Sunday we all got dressed up in our fancy "duds", and went to church. I had my dress dry cleaned along with Christopher's suit jacket. He looked sooo darn cute in it so I decided to take pictures. I couldn't pass up this opportunity. My honey and I haven't had a picture taken of both of us together in a while so I saw an opportunity to do so. They came out sooo nice. First time I used the self-timer and it was a lot of fun!

♥ I'm Surrounded By Love ♥

After church we planned to have our "LINNER" (lunch & dinner) out. I, for one, have really never gone out to eat on any given holiday as far back as I can remember! So we went to the restaurant at Cacapon State Park here in Berkeley Springs. Their buffet consisted of Roast Leg of Lamb, Chicken Marsala, Roast Beef & Seafood Newburg plus all the trimmings right down to the desserts. What a spread!! ♥ Everything I sampled was sooo yummy! ♥

During the course of the dinner, Christopher wanted to use the bathroom so he went by himself. On his way back he decided to pick up a newspaper to read at the table.

When I saw which paper he picked up I just had to take a picture of it and post it on here. I thought it was such a hilariously kewl picture. I want to enter it somewhere like "America's Funniest Pictures" or somewhere like that and title it "It's Never Too Early To Make Retirement Plans".

"What! I Read This All The Time!"

I just couldn't pass it up. I had to post this on here for all to see. He does some things now and again that just makes us laugh so hard. ♥ We enjoy having him around...I just wish he wasn't growing up so fast. ♥
