WHAT A BLAZING SITE INDEED!!

This Is Where Chuck Dug Up The Trees

All Along The Fence

They Were All So Overgrown
That They Started To Take Over The Yard

The Path To Our Adventure

My honey and I were invited to spend today with our friends, Chuck & Suzie. We got there around noon and the first thing we did was start a bonfire. The debris for the bonfire were trees n overgrown bushes in their yard around the pool. Much better indeed! Now, I have never been to one before, I've only seen them in movies. (funny, here I am 50 couple and still experiencing firsts! ;) I thought ahead to bring my camera so these pix are the bomb!! I have a feeling this Post may wind up being rather long.

Hmmm, It Only Took One Match To Get The Fire Going

Then It Took Off On It's Own

Here Is Where I Started Seeing Things In The Flames

Only To Send Heavy Smoke Signals Ablaze

But As You Can See, It's Under Complete Control

I also took a video of some of the happenings. Man, I couldn't believe how high the flames were rising. And the gray, THICK smoke... that was very eerie, I have to say..

It didn't take very long to burn down, Chuck & Bruce kept total watchful eyes on it at all times. They had water in hand and all implements of protection.

And Then... And Then... It Started Getting Ferocious

This Fire Showed No Mercy

It's Almost As If You Can See A Person In The Middle

This Looks Like Chuck Is Feeding A Boar

I stood back about as far as a football field away and I was baking. I wondered how the guys stood the heat where they were. The pix of the fire itself, like the close-up ones, looked like there were images in the flames. Strange :0 Maybe it was optical dilutions but it's all good! Anyway, I also got some pix of their home and the pool.

I Caught This As The Flames On The Right Were Falling

Look How Much It's Burnt Down

We really like when we go there for a visit. They're our age. Their hospitality is just outstanding! And ya never know what we might get ourselves into. These two guys, Chuck & Bruce, are such a trip together. They remind me of 'Mutt & Jeff'. No, better yet... Abbott and Costello. Yeah, that's it. Abbott and Costello. They're simply hilarious!! They keep me laughing all the time. When we're together, we always have a lot of fun.

Chuck Assigned Bruce Keeper Of The Flames

Chuck had to take his dog to the vet for her shots so while he was gone, I heard his pool calling me. I decided to put my suit on and take a dip. No one was around, Bruce was occupied, Chuck was away and Suzie was not home yet so it was very relaxing and rather refreshing (Specially after baking from the heat of the flames).

And This Chair... What's Not To Enjoy!

Suzie is a school teacher in Winchester so she came home around 4:30. When she got home, we visited a while outside around by the pool. Then, we both went into the kitchen and... another first... we were making herbs. Incredible! Very interesting and fun. Today Suzie & I spent time together over 'Thyme'. Hehehee. We were working with thyme today.

This Is What Thyme Looks Like

Parsley ~ Sage ~ Rosemary ~ Thyme

She Saved Parsley, Sage & Rosemary for other days. Hehehee.

We took the tiny leaves off the stems, one stem at a time. Sort of like a 'zipper' motion. Hanging on to one side of the stem and running your fingers down the stem to 'pop off' all the tiny leaves. It was time consuming, but ya know, It was a lot of fun! I think, any project, that anyone starts; they all take time to completion, for perfection. Don't ya think? And besides, quality time is: special time, spent with quality people!

I so enjoyed our time spent together over 'Thyme'. It gave me a 'feel good all over' feeling inside. Suzie is an awesome friend. I like doing things, together, with her, and I love all the things she's made over the years for her family, her friends, babies, and for herself and her honey. Even OUR lovable grankids! :)

ThanQ, Chuck & Suzie, for yet another, memorable visit!
Let's do this again...Real Soon!!

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Pyzam Glitter Text Maker

Well, it's been two whole years since Scott & Peggy said "I Do". What a couple of years it was!! Although they haven't spent a lot of "quality" together time, they still are in love! A lot has happened in these past two years... Scott came into Peggy and Zach's life and became an important part of it. Scott & Peggy wanted a sister or brother for Zach. . . little did they know at the time, but later found out that they were blessed with both, a boy & a girl! Zach is a Great Big Brother & the twins love Zach.

Recently they started a new chapter in their lives and it's taking a while to bend out all the kinks that comes with it but they will all come out ahead. With a new family , a new home and neighborhood, Zach starting a new school, they have a lot on their plate. Together they will work things out.

Scott, Peggy, God bless you both! I pray for nothing but the best for both of you... You deserve it! At times, things can get so overwhelming, but working together will be the way to make it all work out. Here's to another two years, maybe these will be a lot better than the first two.

WE LOVE YOU BOTH!!

A TIME TO REMEMBER
WE CALL IT " ROME, DELAWARE!!

Well, I know it's been a long while since I posted, and a lot of things has happened since, but the most upsetting event that happened to us was our (so called) trip to Rome, Italy! I think it's wise to start at the beginning!

THE AMERICAN EMBASSY IN ROME

Back in May of this year, we had a conversation about "our" bucket list. This is a list of things you want to accomplish before you "kick the bucket". This, of course, was taken from that recent movie with Jack Nickelson and I think Samuel L. Jackson.

THE ROMAN COLLOSEUM

Well, one of the things on my bucket list was to visit the Vatican in Rome, Italy. Our friend, Chuck, is a liason for our American Embassador. He chose an assignment in Rome so we can visit while he was there for 2 months, June and July. At first I didn't believe it but he asked if we got our passports yet. By this time, I knew he was for real.

THE PIETA
SCULPTED BY MICHAELANGELO

Well, we got our Passports (which are good for 10 years) so that's good. We then got our Eurail tickets which are for the train ride from where we fly into which is Ramstein, Germany through Austria and into Rome, Italy. We are retired Air Force and we can catch a HOP which is a Space Available flight from a base here to any other base in the world.

THE VATICAN

THE SISTIEN CHAPEL
THE CEILING WAS ALSO PAINTED BY MICHAELANGELO

We went to Delaware so we can catch a plane on the Air Force base where Bruce retired from. That's one of the benefits they give you, to be able to fly anywhere for nothing. We couldn't afford a commercial flight so this is the way we were gonna go. But, we're in category 6, which is retired military. We are the last man on the totem pole so to speak. Active duty and their families get priority. Being summer and out of school, there were a lot of active duty and families flying to places because they get orders to relocate. So many kids!!!

MY PASSPORT

WE WILL GET TO USE THEM

MY HONEY'S PASSPORT

So, we waited, went back to the terminal every time there was a flight to go out and again was never called. We stayed with Angela and Patti for 3 weeks trying to go but it never happened. Thank God they lived there. We would have had to get a place to stay all that time which we truly couldn't afford.

DOVER SPACE "A" TERMINAL
WHERE WE WAITED AND WAITED AND WAITED

Each time, I remember getting SOOOO upset, and was so overwhelmed with emotion, I just cried! Then I realized it ain't gonna happen and accepted the fact that it wasn't meant to be at this time. One good thing, we have our Passports which are good for 10 years so we'll try again for our anniversary the end of April. All kids will still be in school, it'll be off season and we may have a better chance of getting to go. We were talking about going to Amsterdam this time. Hopefully we will and if it's meant to be we will go!! I'll keep you posted.

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S ALL MINE!!

MILLER'S CHRYSLER JEEP

Tell Darrin ~ Anni Magness Sent You
So He Should Treat You Nice!

On my birthday, December 18, 2006, my honey and I decided to take a ride to Miller's Chrysler dealership in Martinsburg. This is where his mom n dad bought their wagon in 1999. Ever since the hard top Cruisers came out in 1999, I fell in love with them. Then, I wasn't able to afford one and I'm glad I wasn't at that time. I saw a convertible on the cover of a Chrysler magazine and oh my goodness, oh my goodness!!! I wanted one of them instead of the hard top.
Finally, in 2006 we were able to talk turkey.

I was nervous but excited at the same time. Darren came out to greet us and he showed us this beautiful new little toy. He wanted me to get behind the wheel and test drive it around a few blocks. After much persuasion I drove it and he and my honey were in the car with me as I drove away. Wow!! What pick up! This baby has a turbo engine and it can get from here to there in less time it takes me to tie my shoes. heheheee. The color is called "Inferno Red". And red just so happens to be my favorite color. Never in my life have I ever had a convertible, let alone a brandy new vehicle.

Well, I'm excited to say on April 22 of this year, I made my last payment. This baby is all MINE!!
Free and clear! And this past Wednesday I got the Title in the mail!
What a wonderful feeling to be "paid in full!"

I told Darren I'll try and send all my friends to him who are in the market for a new vehicle. He's a pretty good salesperson and he's even a kewl dude! Heheeee. If you're ever in the neighborhood, and even if you're not in the market for buying, drop by and take a look at what's new.
Tell Darren I sent you. He'll treat you like a friend!

ThanQ, Darren, for helping me to make up my mind!
