ABSTRACT TALENT

Michael here with his dad. Guess which one is Michael?

It's been a while since I heard from my nephew, one of many, and I remembered he started a web site to show the world the work he does. Incredible!

Michael is the sixth of seventeen neices n nephews and I gotta say, he's pretty talented. When he was in school he was into wrestling as you can kinda see here. After he graduated he decided to teach wrestling in a local high school and at the same time he would capture his thoughts and ideas in his paintings. Some of his work is a bit disturbing, even for me, but they are truly abstract as he see's life.

I remember him visiting me at one time and when he did he brought his paintings. He was just back from California. He said to have found himself out there. He came back with a fresh beginning and knowing what he wants out of life!

The paintings below are just a few of what he has for sale in his photo gallery. When Michael came for a visit, I showed great interest in the middle one and he said I can have it. He painted the original on a big canvas and the one he gave me was just a 12 x 14 laminated posterboard copy. I loved it. He calls this one "The Struggle Between Good and Evil". He was struggling with life and he painted what was happening within himself at that time.

A lot has happened since he first started and I'd like to think he can maybe not understand the world as we know it but to just try and deal with what God has given us for the time we have.

MICHAEL QUOTES:
For years I saw nothing but the evil in the world
VISIT MY MANIFESTO. I felt that I needed to say something about what I saw happening, so I created some of my most compelling religious, political and spiritual paintings during that time. As time passed I realized that the world needed to see what I had created with my mind and my hands. In these days of uncertainty I believe that my earlier works can now be appreciated and better understood.

I offer you an opportunity to own a part of my struggle. All of my paintings contain a piece of my soul and for many years I was unwilling to part with them. My true struggle has never been about my ability to create, but the inspiration that forces me to do so. Without inspiration, I simply don’t paint.

LEND ME A TENOR

We were invited by our friends, Chuck and Suzie, to go to a dinner theatre in Frederick. I can only remember going to others twice before and each of those times I remember totally enjoying myself! This one was no exception.

This place was so great! The ambiance was plush. Some, if not all, of the cast were waiting our tables. They were fabulous! They made us feel like VIP's. We had our own table and when prompted we helped ourselves to the buffet tables. The food was delicious. They had a favorite of mine 'cream of crab soup'. Wow! Oh so yummy. I recommend it to anyone. They also had a full bar so I splurged and had a 'frozen mudslide'. With that drink, I passed on the desserts they were offering. Mmmmmmm Good!

Shortly after dinner the show started. It was so kewl! These actors were awesome. We laughed a lot. They kept us going. There was a short intermission and the second half was just as funny as the first. A lot of things going on at the same time. The story line was great. My favorite character I think was Max. He was the one who had to keep things together. I was absolutely impressed by his voice! At one point he, alone, sang a few lyrics to the opera and I was blown away. He was so amazing! They all were!

If you have a chance to go before the show ends, I recommend it highly. I know this may be my first time here, but I hope it won't be my last. Below is some info I gathered and at the bottom is the link to their website. They have other upcoming events we can browse including a children's theatre.
